When the electricity went out in summer which it always did someone would bring a chaadar to the roof.
The whole family would lie down looking up. No fans. No screens. Just the night sky and a slow hot breeze and cousins arguing about which star was which. The sky was so clear you could see everything. Every star felt close enough to touch.
Clear quartz for those stars transparent, catching every light. Lapis Lazuli for the deep night sky, the darkest blue you have ever seen. White discs for the moonlight that made the rooftop feel like another world.
A necklace for everyone who has slept under the open sky and felt completely safe.
